Green Month

Special Eco Events Coming this April:

Check out the "Green Teen Challenge" and learn about how young people can make a difference.

We've partnered with the Maplewood Library and planned special eco events all month at both libraries!

The Green Week at the Library: In partnership with the Maplewood Library, there will be a week of fun activities and eco-events at the library, including a book club and upcycled art and crafts projects, April 13-17.  Check out the library's calendar of events for specific activity information.

Wednesday April 15th at 3:30PM: Get your bike going for the season at our Bike Maintenance and Safety Event in Memorial Park. We will also be giving out free tree seedlings from the New Jersey Community Tree Recovery Campaign.  The New Jersey Community Tree Recovery Campaign is a partnership between the Foundation and the New Jersey of State Forestry Service. This campaign focuses on providing trees to homeowners and communities who lost their urban canopy in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  Check out tree distribution sites throughout New Jersey here.

Saturday, April 18th at 2:00PM: Join Rizzo and his Amazing Reptiles in the basement of the main library for a show certain to awe and amaze!

Eco Film Fest

Join the Maplewood Green Team for four moving films about the current state of the environment. While the films have powerful imagery, we feel the content is suitable for grades 6 and up.

The films are free and refreshments will be provided.

All films have two showings in the basement of the Maplewood Memorial Library at 3:30PM and 7PM.
